Megan is a New York City based Korean-American artist and graphic designer. Recently, she participated in the Omnicent Artist Residency in Ukiha, the Uncommon Artist Residency at the Sound View Inn in Greenport, NY, and the Chinatown Soup Studio Residency in the Lower East Side. She has had two solo exhibitions at Chinatown Soup and participated in group shows at Rockefeller Center, the Dollhouse in Watermill, NY, as well as Home Gallery, formerly on Grand Street. Her digital design work has won 4 Cannes Lions and 11 Clio Awards at Deloitte Digitial. She has worked for clients including Spotify, JetBlue, Amex, Google, to name a few, and has worked for Henry Steiner in Hong Kong.
Narrative plays a central role in Megan’s art, with the passage of time playing a major element in her practice. She often covers past paintings, layering colors and textures, embracing chance as part of the process. Each piece reflects a dialogue between past experiences and the present moment. These ongoing palimpsests symbolize memory and lived experience, emphasizing the idea that a piece exists only in a moment, always with the potential to transform. Art becomes a means of processing personal histories, exploring cultural heritage, and the making of new memories.
